Off Frame: Shades of Aotearoa

This November, Neville Porter’s new exhibition will be shown at Rosewood Matakauri’s stunning lodge as part of the Creative Spaces Project.

Off Frame: Shades of Aotearoa is a series of photographs exploring the abstraction and beauty of New Zealand’s landscapes. Set against the vast panorama of Lake Whakatipu, the series unfolds as an installation. Neville Porter invites us to look closely at some topographic fragments: the patterns and reliefs of terrain that usually fall outside the frame. Printed on washi paper, the textured photographs resonate with the surrounding views.

With this new work, Neville challenges our perception of the land we inhabit.

Porter Gallery invites you to drive from town down the Glenorchy road to Rosewood Matakauri. The exhibition is open to the public, hotel or restaurant reservations are not required.
