A Texture Story
Neville Porter began working with handmade washi paper in 2018, after travelling to Japan to learn about its history and techniques. Since then, it has remained his preferred medium. Despite its matte surface, washi paper catches the light, adding depth and vibrant texture to still landscapes while keeping the sharpness of the photograph intact.
Neville also works with cotton rag and canvas. Enquire with us to find the medium that best suits your preference.

Neville Porter
A New Way Of Seeing
For three decades, Neville has travelled the world with a Leica in hand, yet his creative compass always returns to Central Otago. His universe has been shaped by its arid, snowy, unforgiving landscapes.
“Composition is paramount to all my work. Abandoning the obvious landmarks, I concentrate on framing the landscape in a way that encourages a new way of seeing it.”
Printing on Japanese handmade washi paper, Neville offers an experience of photography through texture and atmosphere.
